Writers Block Leads to a Video and Two Important Lessons

I sat down to write this week’s blog post and a huge case of writers block struck.

As I sat and started at my blank computer screen, my anxiety started to creep in.  Not only was I not getting my blog post done for the week, but I felt like I was wasting my precious kid-free work time.

I decided to close my computer and move on to another project off my list.

I have been wanting to set up a studio in my house to shoot videos for some fun upcoming project here at meganflatt.com. (shh…we might be going to summer camp for moms in just a few weeks!)

I figured since I wasn’t making any headway on my blog post, that now was as goods as time as any to set everything up and practice.

Pretty soon I had the living room furniture moved, the rug rolled up and the dogs thoroughly confused!

Taking the lessons I had learned from jodyjelas.com, I set up hardware store lights on garage sale light stands and my iphone on a tripod.

And before I knew it, my living room looked like this (see picture above!)

I tested out the lights and sound.  And low and behold….it worked!

Everything I had learned from other online experts was coming together in my own living room.

I had learned to do everything I was doing by google-ing, following, watching, reading and learning from someone online.

And I had a HUGE ah ha. Two of them actually…

So I decided to share my two lessons in my “practice video blog.”

What is something YOU would like to do better?  Leave me a message in the comments and then go google how to do it right now!

    #Better … My mantra!

Subjectively, one thing came to mind: To be a satellite more. To scan the earth for the examples of what people need to achieve their next level; in life and at work.

I want to listen to people “complain” and provde them with some easy-to-implement ideas to get there. i
