How’s your list?

If you are starting a new business or planning a launch or getting ready to scale, you know you need a healthy list. Maybe growing your list even makes it to your annual or quarterly goals. But you don’t get to it. You’re half-hearted. Growth happens slowly . . . or not at all. Now’s the time to change that.

Why You Need to Grow Your List Now

I always go back to results. Why are you growing your list? What will the results of list growth be?

  • Greater ease in selling new products or services
  • Increased sales
  • Full client roster
  • More passive income

Obviously list size alone doesn’t equal success, but your list is a key piece in the sales puzzle. It’s a numbers game.

Conversion rates vary, but if you consider that about 1–5% of your list will buy from you on any given offer, you can see immediately that list size matters.

Say you have 100 people on your list and you are selling a $299 program. Say you get a moderate conversion rate of 3%. You’ll make about $900.

But what if you had a list of 1000? With the same conversion rate, you’d make nearly $9000. On average, you need a list of 1000 to earn $50,000 to $100,000. So your list really does matter.

I have had this work first hand for me. When I was ready to hit that first milestone of 1000 subscribers, I turned to an expert, Jenny Shih, and her Get Your First 1000 Subscriber program. I followed her program, and she was right, I grew my list and I hit that financial milestone as well.

It’s time to stop putting off list building. You don’t get a bigger list and immediately see returns. Generally it takes seven or more touches to get people to buy, and if you have premium products, expect a bigger lag in getting to yes.

The sooner you start putting yourself in front of a bigger audience, the sooner you start seeing returns.

It’s time for me to return to list building myself in 2017.  For the past few years, I’ve been running my programs and working with my clients. I’ve been creating new products. I was too busy to put in focused effort to build my list.

Don’t get me wrong. My business has continued to grow. I’ve even met push goals over the last few years. But I know that to sustain growth and continue to uplevel, I need to grow my list.

Whether you’re just starting out or you’re looking to take your business to the next level, you do too.

I’ve got the tool you need. Since I first purchased Jenny’s program a few years ago, Jenny has become a friend and mentor—and a wildly successful entrepreneur. She’s distilled her process for amazing, but real, list growth. If you don’t know where to start or you’re overwhelmed with things you could do, Jenny’s going to break it down for you.
